| Mountain Williams Studio by GH3 Posted: 13 Nov 2010 07:38 AM PST The Williams Studio by GH3, will become immediately clear that it is a re-imagination that is made real with architectural excellences. Basically the re-imagination involves archetypal glass house against the backdrop of Canadian Shield landscape. Concept of the house has been based on requirements of sustainability as well as amenity. Both the environmental as well as program related efficiency of the building have been enhanced by the simple and open qualities of the building constructed.
North facing window of the building ensures uninterrupted as well as undiminished natural lights for photographers; a great natural gift for them. Since the curtain is well glazed in low iron glass, it offers excellent opportunity to the photographer to create sparkling images that may never be possible in traditional photo studios.
Last but not the least; Williams Studio by GH3 contains compact and durable glass form at the edge of the water on granite plinth. Both features are excellent for keeping the environmental and climatic balance; whether summer or winter.

| Selection of the Right flower vase Posted: 13 Nov 2010 06:12 AM PST Flowers arranged in a flower vase simply look stunning and are known to suit all types of environment. Whether it is a church, office, mall, or a business establishment, vases with colorful flowers are a common sight. There is a wide range of flowers available in the market and choosing one of them is bound to be tricky. However, the toughest part is to match them with the right flower vase. Whether you use ordinary flowers or exotic flowers, they will not look good, unless you place them in the appropriate vase. It is very vital to select the right flower vase.
Here is a list of tips that shall help you with the selection of the right flower vase – a) The first thing that needs to be considered is the size of the vase. Vases are available in all sizes. If you have few flowers, select a small vase, whereas if a bunch of flowers need to be arranged that you need to select a large flower vase with a wide mouth.
b) The height of the vase should also be considered. As a thumb rule, the ideal height of a vase is half in length than that of flowers. Lilies and daffodils have longer blooms, and hence they blend perfect with a tall vase. On the other hand, for close cut flowers such as daises and roses, a low vase will be the ideal choice.
c) Assure that the flower vase never overpowers the flowers. If they are over decorated and too colorful then they would steal away the beauty of the flowers. d) It is advisable to select a vase that blends with the flowers as well the room décor. Moreover, they should also serve as decorative items even when they are without flowers. e) The place where the vase is going to be placed also plays a vital role in the selection process. If the vases are to be placed on a shelf or a table, it is recommended to select vases with wider bases so that they do not topple over. If you want to place a vase outside the porch then select a longer vase so that it is noticeable. f) Another factor that needs to be considered is the material of the flower vase. Flower vases are available in an array of materials. Glass flower vases are expensive and look good in living room areas. If you are looking for cheaper options then you should go for terracotta, wooden or porcelain vases. |
| Posted: 13 Nov 2010 05:52 AM PST If you are a woman then you know that the kitchen is the room where you spend most of your time in your home. It’s not only the cooking, but tons of other small activities that keep you busy all day long and if you only have two hours free time then certainly at least two thirds is spent in the kitchen. And you also need a lot of things when cooking, baking or whatever it is that you do there. And all the utensils you need must be within reach or else it will ruin your mood. So you buy a lot of kitchen gadgets and pile them and then only use them once a year.
I love gadgets and I found a set of kitchen gadgets that has a funny design as an egg. Look at this funny egg that it is really a microwave oven egg support! It’s so cute! It has the shape of an egg, but you can put the egg in and cook it in the microwave without having some difficulties like finding a dish that is small enough for one egg and also to be microwave compatible. You simply put the egg in there and wait for three minutes. Quite a time saver.
The measuring cup is so useful and funny because it looks like an egg with eyes and shoes, but it is used for measuring the different ingredients you use when you cook. It is a must for every kitchen. Well, not necessarily shaped like an egg.
This egg timer looks like a sand clock inside an egg. It can be used for measuring the time you need to boil an egg. Three minutes is the perfect amount of time for the perfectly boiled egg a, so unless you want a really hard egg you will need it to let you know when the time is up. SO when the sand is all gone just take your egg out of the water.
The egg cutter slices perfect little slices of your boiled egg and you can make use of it when you have a big number of eggs to slice and you are really in a hurry
This frying pan has an egg on the holder and is perfect for cooking omlette . If you want to buy these eggs and also if you want some more details about these gadgets just go to the producer’s web site – JoieShop. |
| How to Create a Relaxing Reading Corner Posted: 13 Nov 2010 02:25 AM PST Reading is, among fishing, jogging, and practicing yoga, one of the most relaxing activities that have ever existed. And even if most of the people don't have time or don't want to read, plenty of us are still willing to spend lots of time in the company of the books. And you know, the secret of making a pleasure out of reading is to have your own reading nook, where everything is comfortable and nothing can disturb you. Now, for some us, an armchair or a couch would be more than enough, but frankly, when it comes to comfortable reading, nothing compares with a reading nook.
Though, to create your own relaxing reading nook you have to adapt to your own house, especially if you are restricted by the space. So, here is a quick question: where do you feel comfortable in your house, besides the bed, and if can that place take the role of a reading nook.
If you can afford a whole room for reading, than creating your own reading nook can be extremely easy: put all your books on shelves, and after that, choose between a fluffy armchair with a special desk – adapted at the height of the armchair – and a bureau with the classic wooden desk. Though, that would be more of a library than a reading nook, but as long as you would feel comfortable reading in it, there won't be problems.
The modern trends related to reading nooks are somehow odd, but from the users that we have spoken to, they are very comfortable: basically, the reading nook is somehow compiled with the library. This kind of reading nook is perfect for those with a small space, but isn't very convenient to those looking forward to keeping their house style as conservative as possible.
As for creating on your own a reading nook, things can't go wrong, especially if you are not a very handy one. Therefore, you can find ways of improving – for reading – different parts of your house. This will be way cheaper than building a nook on your own, no mess will be done in your house, and further more, you will be very comfortable in the nook as everything there will belong to you.

| Posted: 13 Nov 2010 12:54 AM PST A hose has many things inside, a lot of the things that are used for depositing other things being furniture pieces. One of them that is now almost obsolete is the bookcase. That happened because people no longer buy books and store them in their homes. As there is such a great variety of books now you can simply go to the library and borrow the book you want to read and then return it and borrow a new one. Plus, now the young generation prefers the electronic version of books – like e-books that they can read using their fashionable tablets and e-book readers. But all of us have at least a few books or at least CDs or DVDs they need to store. But you do not need a whole bookcase for this, so you’d better use a nice and modern bookshelf instead.
And if your house is modern and young and has a very minimalistic design, you can think of a special design for your bookshelf. So maybe you will like my suggestion and build yourself a bookshelf that looks like the Chinese symbol of Yin and Yang. This is the symbol of perfection and it is colored in black and white. SO I guess it will be perfect for both a man’s and a woman’s living room. Besides the nice look it will also suggest perfect harmony and knowledge. |
| Posted: 12 Nov 2010 11:25 PM PST Christmas is a special holiday and it is celebrated in a big part of the world. Actually I consider it the most important holiday through the whole year. And it’s one of the few holidays that we celebrate by decorating our homes, too. When Christmas is near we want to use any kind of decorations that have at least a hint of Christmas symbols. So people, especially mothers and wives go crazy and try to do their best in finding as many decorations as possible and also to make the house very festive and welcoming. But there are some other people who only want to use some small and discreet decorations that can be easily removed after Christmas.
So you don’t have to paint the walls in red and green, but you can use only some simple decorations, the Christmas tree and maybe … some very nice Christmas curtains. There are very nice curtains for your kitchen, for your living room and even for your shower. Why not decorate the bathroom for this special time of the year.
If you want to have nice curtains , but you don’t want so spend a lot of money on it you can try a different approach and tie your old red curtains with a white bow, with a Christmas bow or even with some old white wooden beads.
You can find some very beautiful models of cloth printed with Christmas symbols and you can buy enough for covering the upper part of your living room curtain. If you want to buy some of the models you saw here or to find some more details, just visit the following web sites: MylittleNorway, BedBathStore, Smarter.

| HSB Turning Torso Building in Sweden Posted: 12 Nov 2010 01:48 PM PST I love imaginative people and I am impressed with their power and vision. Let’s take architects for example. They are able to see the whole building , even if it has hundred of meters, in their heads long before the building even starts being built. And nowadays these architects tend to express themselves in an original way, without copying their predecessors or keeping the tradition as the only guidance. This is how amazing and also bizarre buildings have appeared all over the world, being now admired for their innovative or unusual architecture.
The perfect example is HSB Turning Torso Building in Sweden in Malmo, Sweden. Its name comes from its unusual look , very much like a turning human torso. Actually the source of inspiration for the design of this skyscraper is a sculpture of a twisting human torso that was made in white marble by Santiago Calatrava, the same person who designed the unusual building.
The construction of this building began in the summer of 2001 and it was officially opened on 27th August 2005. The Turning Torso Building in Sweden is considered a skyscraper because its height is 190 m and the tallest residential building in the European Union.
The Turning Torso is unique because it rotates itself around its own axis with 90 degrees and looks as if a giant pair of hands would like to squeeze it until water comes out. You can imagine that it is built on a very solid steel framework and it needed tremendous engineering skills to complete it and make it functional as it is today.
